Chapter 1 is all about mindset

Before we get started blogging we have to talk about mindset first. Having the right mindset as you build your blog will make or break your experience. I’ve spent as much time working on my mindset as I have on my blog. I'll walk you through the steps you need to take to believe in yourself and in your blog.

Who do you want to help? This is a really big question for most bloggers. It’s one of the hardest decisions you’ll make. If you’re like me, you have about 12 different things you want to write about and can’t decide which one you SHOULD write about. It’s a constant struggle. In this chapter, I'll help you determine who you need to help and how you can best help them.

In Chapter 3 we'll find the right platform for your business

The next step in creating your blog is to decide where it lives, what platform it’s going to be on. There are many different types of blogs, probably more than you think. There’s the traditional blog, something that lives on WordPress or Medium. Then there are the less traditional short-form blogs that live on Instagram, Facebook and Tumblr. You could also have a blog as a part of a podcast or a YouTube channel. It’s really up to you how you want to define it.

Chapter 4 is all about building the structure

As a graphic designer, building a new website is one of my favorite things! But I realize that not everyone has this feeling. When I built my first website I was overwhelmed and confused. I had no idea where to start or what to think about first. I really want to encourage you to try not to get overwhelmed. Just take it step-by-step. You can totally do this. There are people a lot less qualified than you that have built a website. You certainly can figure it out.

In Chapter 5 we'll grow your business and build your email list

Now that you have all of your structure set up it’s time to track down some customers! There are several different options and it really just depends on how you want to approach it. When I started I let people come to me. It took me a few months to start getting people to come to me though. If you’re patient and you create amazing content, your audience will come. If you want to speed up the process a bit, there’s a few things you can do.
